About

Camp Isidro is a lifestyle brand from visionaire photographer Dean Felix Isidro.

Dean grew up in the sleepy Northern California beach town of Santa Cruz. He was born in Watsonville and still enjoys a cold Martinelli's sparkling cider. His love of indigo is rooted in his child memories of the sun glistening off the water in Monterey Bay and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. After graduating from Pepperdine University in Malibu, he moved to New York in the early 90's to pursue his love of capturing moments on film.

Dean started his photography career as Gilles Bensimon's 1st assistant traveling across the world shooting for Elle. While cleaning sand out of camera's and polishing lenses - he honed his passion for wanderlust and his own unique vision of capturing moments with the beauty of natural light. While traversing the globe over the years, he has collected found treasures - vintage ticking in the centuries old Paris Flea Market, glass from the beaches of Harbor Island, and memories to last a lifetime.

Dean now shares his creative vision and special memories through one-of-a-kind pieces he makes with love for Camp Isidro. Inspired by the Japanese principle Wabi-Sabi (侘寂) - centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. He can be found creating a new vat of indigo dye with his husband and dog, Luca Belle, on the beaches of Sag Harbor or shooting on the streets of New York City.
